Theory:

The present in English means one of two things: this specific moment, or something that happens regularly, and there is one verb tense for each situation.

The Present simple is used for:

something that happens regularly, something that happens continually, and facts.

I eat salad every Sunday. (happens regularly)

I live in London. (happens continually)

The sun rises in the east. (a fact)

The present continuous is used for:

some temporary activity, and something that is happening now.

I normally live in London, but i'm staying in Paris for a week. (temporary situation)

I am cutting the grass at the moment. (happening now)

When you use the present continuous, the verb must ent in ing and you mast use the verb to be.
