5.1 ESSAY - WHAT CAMBRIDGE IS LOOKING FOR

Theory:

Cambridge has produced a handbook for students doing the FCE exam in which they explain what they are looking for in the writing exam

If we analyse this in a bit more detail, we can identify exactly what Cambridge is looking for:

1 Focus on agreeing or disagreeing with a statement.

2 Giving information, giving opinion, giving reasons.

3 Comparing and contrasting ideas and opinions, drawing a conclusion.

We can then use this as a guide to writing our essay.
