Theory:
LIKE MORE THAN is a way of comparing how much you like one thing compared to another.
- I like beer MORE THAN whisky.
This can be expressed in other ways.
LIKE MORE THAN means PREFER which means LIKE BEST which means like BETTER THAN.
- I like beer MORE THAN whisky.
- I like beer THE BEST.
- I PREFER beer.
- I like beer BETTER THAN whisky.
- I don't like whisky AS MUCH AS I like beer.
Notice that PREFER goes with TO.
I PREFER whisky TO beer.
I PREFER sailing TO swimming.
These forms are often used in sentence transformations.
