Day Out At The Beach

We were all sitting in the living room, just talking and playing with Bob our puppy, when Sam walked in with some papers in his hand.

"You won't believe my news," he said.

"What do you mean?" mum asked.

Well, we had a maths exam last week and we got our results today. The teacher asked me to come to the front of the class and told everybody that I came top.

"Well done!" we all said at the same time.

"We should celebrate," said Dad.

"I know, how about a trip to the beach?"

"Great!" we all shouted.

We all got up very early and while Dad and Sam put everything we needed into the car, mum and I made some sandwiches and snacks to take with us.

Bob kept his eye on everybody, just to make sure we were all keeping busy, and he was more excited than I have ever seen him.

Soon it was all done, so we got into the car and set off for the beach.

Mum decided to sing her favourite song and we all joined in, singing our way for most of the trip.

Before long we had arrived and quickly unpacked the car.

(3) Dad and Sam put everything in the (3) .

(4) Mum and I made some (4) for our trip.

(5) Bob was very, very (5) .

We all love playing on the beach so I made sure to pack my best beach ball. Before long there we all were, laughing and playing with our feet in the soft sand. What a lovely feeling that is.

Bob was jumping around like a kangaroo, trying to get the ball, and he finally succeeded, and ran off with it.

We all had to chase him, but because the ball was too big for him, he fell over, and we caught him and rolled around in the sand giggling.

We had a great time on the beach, and I can't wait for Sam to have another Maths test.

(6) We all played with my big (6) beachball.

(7) ran away with my ball and we had to chase him.
